Daggum you ole’ bears ain’t gettin’ no food outta me
Get along bears in the bushes
Get along bears in the trees
Get along bears in the bushes
You ain’t gonna get no food from me

Bears got my peas
Looks like them ole bears done got some food out of me
Bears ate my chicken
Bears ate my cheese
Da gum you ole’ bears
Done even licked up all of my grease
Get along bears in the bushes
Get along bears in the trees
Get along bears in the bushes
You ain’t gettin’ no mo’ food from me

Daggum you ole’ bears
Ain’t gettin’ mo’ food outta me
Get along bears

Bears is a tune of mine that I originally wrote last summer on a trip to the Eastern Sierras, but recently
just finished up with some added words. I'm using an open E tuning - E,E,B,E. I should also mention
that the tune borrows for the chorus from the old Appalachian standard "Cindy, Cindy" that's been
covered by countless people like Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash, but since folk songs by their nature
borrow from each quite frequently, I think it's OK, since I think I've come up with a new song all in all.
